Your Life Path number is the single digit, or master number, you get by reducing your full birth date. It is the main number in numerology and describes your overall direction. Enter your birth date above and TarotDew shows the number, the meaning and each step of the math. Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are kept.
- Free and unlimited, with no sign-up and no ads.
- Uses the Pythagorean method: month, day and year reduced separately, then added.
- Master numbers 11, 22 and 33 are kept, not reduced.
- Every step of the calculation is shown under "How we calculated it".
- Also gives Expression, Soul Urge, Personality and Birthday numbers if you add your name.
Example reading
Input: Born 3 July 1990
Result: Life Path 11, a master number. July reduces to 7. The day 3 stays 3. The year 1990 adds to 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 9 = 10, then 1. Add the three: 7 + 3 + 1 = 11. Because 11 is a master number it is kept, not reduced to 2. Life Path 11 is the Intuitive: inspired and sensitive, with a gift for uplifting others.
How to calculate your Life Path number
- Write your birth date as month, day and year, for example 14 July 1988.
- Reduce the month to one digit: July is 7.
- Reduce the day: 14 becomes 1 + 4 = 5.
- Reduce the year: 1 + 9 + 8 + 8 = 26, then 2 + 6 = 8.
- Add the three results and reduce again: 7 + 5 + 8 = 20, then 2 + 0 = 2. Stop early if you reach 11, 22 or 33.
Reducing month, day and year separately is the common Pythagorean method. It is what this calculator uses, and it is why a master number can survive the sum.

Master numbers 11, 22 and 33
Most traditions do not reduce 11, 22 and 33 when they appear in the final sum or in the month, day or year. They are read as stronger, more demanding versions of 2, 4 and 6. Some calculators reduce everything to one digit and lose them; TarotDew keeps them and shows you where they came from, so you can compare with other methods.
Life Path vs the other core numbers
Life Path uses only your birth date and never changes. Your name gives three more numbers: Expression from all letters, Soul Urge from the vowels and Personality from the consonants. The Birthday number is simply the day you were born. Add your full birth name in the calculator to see all five together.
Frequently asked questions
What is my Life Path number?
It is your full birth date reduced to one digit, or to a master number 11, 22 or 33. Enter your birth date above to see yours with the full calculation.
Do you keep master numbers?
Yes. 11, 22 and 33 are kept wherever they appear in the month, day, year or final total, and the steps show exactly where each one came from.
Why do different calculators give different Life Path numbers?
Some add every digit of the date in one line, others reduce month, day and year first. The second method keeps more master numbers. TarotDew uses it and shows each step so you can check.
Which Life Path number is the rarest?
Master numbers are the least common, with 33 the rarest of all, because it needs a specific combination of month, day and year totals.
Can my Life Path number change?
No. It comes only from your birth date. Name numbers can change if you change your name, but the Life Path stays the same.
Is numerology scientific?
No. Numerology is a symbolic system. TarotDew offers it for entertainment and self-reflection, not as a prediction or advice.
